A very good question came up yesterday. More than good, it might the best question ever:
Does Tabetha Jones have the rights to use those songs in her promotional videos?
Here are a few of her greatest hits:
Blood stained lives by Ronald Edward Griffin using Awake and Alive by Skillet
To Darkness With Love by Katrina Vore using How Can This Happen to Me by Simple Plan
Shadowed Heart by Anna Lynn using All of Me by John Legend
Glass Hearts anthology using Try by Pink
Cirque Macabre by CS Patra using Applause by Lady Gaga
Wicked Wonderland by Zoey Sweete using Closer by Nine Inch Nails
Bloody Kisses anthology using Bloody Kisses by Type O Negative
The Heart of a Woman by Jennifer Oneal Gunn using Life After You by Daughtry
And there are so many more. But you get the point.
Anybody here think she went through the proper channels to secure the rights to use those tasty tunes? Anybody?
Like everything and everyone in her life, she uses what she wants with wanton disregard for legalities or how it might impact on other people. These authors could be in serious trouble for having their names on promotional materials that are illegally obtained. And does she care? Well, if she did, she’d make legal shit in the first place, wouldn’t she? With the images she uses, the music she plays, hell, with her whole company. But that just wouldn’t be Tabetha Jones, would it?
I just hope nobody turns her in to Youtube before the artists and their record companies get a hold of her.
