Jabber-Walkie

Tabetha insists that big things are happening for Phoenix Fire after June 27th.
Who wants to take a guess about what that drastic change will be?
Here are my guesses:
1) She’ll be shutting down Phoenix Fire and opening a new company, just like Dallas Gurl said she was.

2) She’ll blame Jabberwocky for screwing Phoenix Fire over somehow, giving her an excuse to shut down.

3) She’ll blame JW for “locking” her accounts so that Phoenix authors won’t get paid. And since JW will be taking the blame, Tabetha gets to try and convince the next wave of victims that she’s squeaky clean for both the company’s closure and the fact that the authors don’t get paid. That’s what she did to Mystic and all the Mystic authors that still haven’t been paid. She said Createspace locked down both her Amazon and Paypal accounts, and that’s why nobody got paid.

The pay next Phoenix Fire cycle, as she claims it, comes due in June, doesn’t it? What coincidental timing.

Phoenix authors, take heed. These are exactly the same things that happened to the Mystic authors that were told the same excuses and still haven’t been paid for the work they did back then. I cannot advise you strongly enough to protect your interests now while you still can. After she shuts the doors, you’ll be left hanging as certainly as her past authors were.

Tabetha does not have any contract with Jabberwocky. Trust me when I tell you that. If that’s the huge change her company is hinging on, it’s a lie, pure and simple.

You’re being told not to listen to the things that get said here because we’re bashers and haters, backstabbers and liars. That’s not true. We’re here to warn you not to get scammed by a scam artist. The one telling you not to listen is the one that’s scamming you. She’s got every reason to convince you not to listen. Please think about that and take heed. Don’t let yourself fall further victim.

Protect yourself. Protect your rights. Protect your work.

  1. Actually you are so off that it is hilarious. Phoenix isn’t closing we aren’t going anywhere. But there are some big changes coming….

  2. And if I recall I never said I signed any sort of contract with anyone i was offered. I have been offered others as well in fact several while I was with Eric and he told me no that it wasnt enough money.

If you really knew half as much as you thought you did about me and my company then I would applaud you. Unfortunately you come out half cocked and insanity.

    • Three whole comments? Wow. I must really have touched a nerve to get such an extended reply.

Your literary skills are so pitiful I doubt that you were offered anything by anybody but a lap dance for pay.

You’re too greedy to turn down anything that would bring you money. There’s no contract. There’s no offer. There’s just you and a stack of lies. But do go ahead and keep insisting otherwise. Time will tell. And you always out yourself as a fraud.

      • Wrong again sweets I never paid for my lap dances and I have turned down more than a few offers. Money isnt everything and means nothing to me. As long as my authors are taken care of thats all I worry about and what I am bringing out in June to a certain someone Phoenix will be burning the state of Texas down. At least we are hoping. Never know with the stories I know of certain ppl and certain things. And if it hits print and gets in the right hands then well you will see…

      • You know who money does mean something to? The authors that haven’t been paid the money they earned through your bullshit publishing company. The money that you STOLE from them. That’s how you “take care” of them. By putting their money in your pocket.
Money means nothing to you? Well, then. Why not give it to those that have earned it rather than spending it on yourself?
        Right.

That’s a lot of ifs. And it sounds dangerously like slander and defamation of character. You already have at least one ex that’s got enough on you to take you to the cleaners if he wants. And at least two Prominent members of the business community, thanks to your using their names and businesses on blogs. But, sure. Keep throwing your slander out there. Sooner or later, you’ll piss off somebody that DOES think it’s worth the money to shut you up. I only hope I’ve got a front row seat to see it.

I know, you’re promising your authors all these great things. If only they realized that you did the exact same thing with your last publishing company, Mystic Press, right before that shut down and you stiffed every last one of them.

Yes, we will see. And I’ll be right here to console your newest victims when they find out that you’re ripping them off, too.

    • JABberwocky is a legitimate, reputable literary agency with whom Tabetha claims to be negotiating a contract that will allow her to bring along all of her authors and staff. She’ll be able, she says, to pick her own manager, her own graphic artist, her own editor and bring all of her authors on board in this deal that will benefit the entire Phoenix Fire company. I mistype the name on purpose as an illustration that her claim to be involved with JABberwocky is just as bogus as the way I present it.

The problem with her claim to have this contract in negotiation to benefit the whole PF company is that literary agencies don’t work that way. Anybody that’s ever been involved with a real literary agency or legitimate publishing company knows that a literary agency represents an author’s work to publishing companies. That’s it. The publisher deals with the physical aspects of publishing, like artists, editors, etc. Not the agency. And agencies have no involvement whatsoever with who an author hires as a personal manager.
What’s really going on here is that Tabetha is telling this grand tale to distract attention away from the fact that she’s spending her time and the company’s money promoting herself rather than her authors. She may also be concocting this ruse as an excuse she can use later to blame for it when her authors don’t get paid, or her company shuts down. It’s exactly the sort of thing she told her authors right before her former company, Mystic Press, closed down. Those authors still haven’t been paid.

Any real author that wants himself and his work to be taken seriously within the literary community would be wise to get as far away from such a shady scam artist. She’s not only a thief, but tarnishes the reputation of all that deal with her by association.

By all means, don’t take my word for it. Go to Absolute Write water cooler, Writer Beware and Editors and Predators and check for yourself.

      • She did actually pay someone back – me. However, that was only because Mum was going to expose a dirty little secret that could have landed a certain someone out of a certain someplace. Basically, she’ll only repay authors when she’s forced into it and no time before it.

  3. Update:

As of June, 2016, Tabetha Jones has no publishing companies in operation that we know about, so our investigation of her has been halted. The point of examining her in the first place was to advocate for authors that reported no royalties and other related abuse from her. If she’s not involved with publishing anymore, that job’s done.

The posts about her remain in public view in case she starts a new one in the future.

If more publishing concerns about Tabetha Jones (Willis, Farmer Hoover, Saulters, etc) – AKA Zooey Sweete, Emerald Rai Fleurs, et al – arise in the future, we will post relevant updates. But for now, we’re focusing on happier topics.

    Peace.
