Phoenix Fire (not) closed?

How long ago was it that owner Tabetha Jones announced the closing of Phoenix Fire publishing? When she said that Dark Storm was “taking over” all tehe authors and contracts? Hang on, let me look.

There it is. I published that grab more than a year ago.
And the announcement on her FB page to back it up.

So, if Phoenix Fire publishing was closed down more than a year ago, how is it that her Draven Witch books are still for sale on Amazon? And, no. I don’t mean those shady third party dealings. Not used or secondhand. These are books that are CURRENTLY being sold on Amazon as active listings. Both on Kindle and as a paperback.  I don’t think there’s such a thing as a used Kindle book, is there?

And, if Phoenix Fire closed in March 2015, how is it that the current listing was published in AUGUST of 2015? Yup. Fishy.

Anyway, there you have it. Tabetha Jones is still at it, still doing business as Phoenix Fire publishing, with current listings available. As well as whatever new scheme she’s cooking up. None of her antics are “in the past” even though she’s gone radio silent. It’s the same old song and dance.

Illegal much? Tax fraud, maybe? We’ll see what the IRS thinks of it all and let them decide what to do about it.

SMH.

  1. She will NEVER learn, she will never be anything but a wannabe, hang around, attention seeking nobody. The only reason she continues to be this way is she is so desperate to be noticed she will take any attention she can get. It’s quite sad really.

But on an upbeat note, there IS LIFE after that life-suckling, abusive creature. Thanks to an amazing friend and Remedy Press my books are being rereleased and released. See while Tabetha cried foul and stomped around spewing the same tired rhetoric and preformed her smoke and mirrors, I have not just 3 lowly books to release but 6 are ready except for covers, and one is a 1/4 of the way in.

No they are not going to be shoved onto the public as we have seen done. They may be being self published but by all that is in my being they won’t have the taint of that troll. And I guarantee this, they will look 1 million times better than anything Tabetha and her fake ass willy nilly companies could EVER do.

    • She’s using a different tactic, saying that she has to move because we victimize her. She’s milking every drop of sympathy she can get out of playing victim. And, of course, she’s playing the name game, switching up names, claiming, of course, that it’s to avoid being stalked. She’s gone radio silent on her regular FB but she’s chatting it up on her new one, playing victim for all it’s worth. And she’s getting sympathy in droves, though I’m willing to bet that half of the names offering their condolences are are a whole new roster of alts, picking right up where she left off.
It took some time, but I found her online. Sneaky monkey.
She tried, but she can’t shake the truth. So these new authors and new books are under the microscope just like the old ones.

  2. Also fyi if you google search the old anthologies. They are still up but say out pf stock which means she hasnt taken any down. She still has a copy available on createspace and they can still be sold at her will. I know cs. You can make a book out of stock and still have the option of republishing it later. To remove it completely i contact cs and they wipe everything. Which is what needs to be done and what isnt being done. That shouldve been fixed in march when i left the anthologies and yet my name is still there and so is many others.

    • THIS, people. Thank you, Melina.

Tabetha will never take down your work until or unless she’s forced to.

Contact Createspace yourself and make them un-publish your book. Do the same thing with Ingram and Smashwords. MAKE them un-publish your work. Make sure they know that Tabetha is not your publisher anymore.

She will never do the right thing for you. Do it for yourself.

  3. Phoenix Fire (not) closed.
Was Phoenix Fire legally open as a recognized business at county, state or federal livels at during its operations?

    • Nope. Never.
None of her businesses were are legal entities, despite her protestations otherwise. Either she used a bogus name to create them or ignore the laws regarding partners and/or employees, spinning yarns about how “it’s different” where she lives.

      SMH

So, technically, if a business is never legally open, it doesn’t legally close. It never existed. Yet there it is, still being actively sold.

      Tax fraud, much?

      • That’s typical. Whenever anyone wants answers, about her business or their royalties, her favorite tactic is to change the subject. Usually to a topic that will garner sympathy from whoever’s asking and distract them away from the topic at hand.

When that doesn’t work, she either becomes abusive or cuts them off and makes them an enemy to vilify.

        Anything except facts.

  4. Or she makes a sod story about them so thatothers stay away. She seems to think that everything she says everyone will listen. Theyll just drop everything and be at her beck and call. I tell you guys if you heard some of the shit she used to wallop at me about everyone. Everything. And knowing me. I like knowing both sides of the story and thats when i realized wasnt as she said it was. It goes with everything she does not just her modeling or her publishing. I dont think people realize how bad it is till it is too late. For me i learnt the hard way. I did try to help her too. A multiple time of chances were given before i realized if she couldnt help herself then i cant help her.

Shes been highlighted for her wrong doing so much she relies on it for bad attention like a lost puppy. But if she were to do the right thing and put proof to her words. Thats if. Then she would be highlighted for doing the right thing and she would stop with the wrongdoing. If she were to do that. I no longer have hope that she will change though. Shes dug herself a hole too deep and even though its not a good choice. She doesnt care. Everyones giving her attention so she might as well dig deeper. Little does she know once the hole is dug too deep not only will there be no way to climb up but no one to help or give her a ladder. They would be far too over her shit to give a damn.

  5. Update:

As of June, 2016, Tabetha Jones has no publishing companies in operation that we know about, so our investigation of her has been halted. The point of examining her in the first place was to advocate for authors that reported no royalties and other related abuse from her. If she’s not involved with publishing anymore, that job’s done.

The posts about her remain in public view in case she starts a new one in the future.

If more publishing concerns about Tabetha Jones (Willis, Farmer Hoover, Saulters, etc) – AKA Zooey Sweete, Emerald Rai Fleurs, et al – arise in the future, we will post relevant updates. But for now, we’re focusing on happier topics.

    Peace.
